The Artist

Clay Tull is an Abstract Surreal Expressionist painter based in Southbridge, Massachusetts. He is recognized for his innovative Storytelling Blade technique, creating worlds without brushes by using high-flow acrylics, fluid pigments, and soft-body paints. His work blends abstraction, dream logic, and emotional resonance, creating immersive works of art that invite viewers to step into the tension between distortion and clarity. Tull’s practice is rooted in resilience. Years ago, he walked with a cane and struggled to speak clearly. Cannabis became a turning point, restoring his ability to move, communicate, and reclaim his life. While access to medicine is often a challenge due to life circumstances, his art has become both therapy and testimony, a way of transforming negatives into positives and creating beauty out of struggle.
