Four years. 

            Four years since the sunny Sunday morning on February 28, 2021, when a couple of local Vietnam veterans cut the ribbon in front of the new dispensary in Southbridge and the Green Meadows cannabis company became real. 

            Looking back, the time that’s passed sometimes feels like forty years and sometimes like four minutes. This probably has to do with our common tendency to dwell on setbacks over successes, on frustration over joy. In the seven years since my family first got the idea to enter the cannabis business – by vote around a kitchen table, I kid you not – and in the four years since we went live in Southbridge, we’ve seen both sides of the story. 

            The challenges any startup faces are heightened in our industry due to cannabis’s controversial history and the stern regulations imposed on its legal use. But thanks to everyone on the Green Meadows team, to our supporters in our host communities, and above all to our patients and guests, the positives far prevail. Anniversaries are occasions to celebrate where we’ve been and where we are. So let’s get to the good stuff: 

  • Along with licensing and opening our Southbridge dispensary for both medical and adult-use customers, we added organic cultivation and product manufacturing to the Green Meadows operation, eventually winning NECANN and Harvest Cup awards for our Gummy Buns prerolls and our Coquito vapes. 
  • In December 2022, we opened a dual-licensed dispensary in Fitchburg, bringing to another community the same topnotch shopping experience that twice won Green Meadows the Worcester Telegraph & Gazette’s People’s Choice Award for best cannabis dispensary in Central MA and, in 2023, for best CBD store as well. 
  • Along with a full menu of standard-size Green Meadows vapes, we launched THE TANK and STELLAR, 1- and 2-gram heavy hitters that have become customer favorites at dispensaries around the Commonwealth. 
  • We now offer Green Meadows gummies, and have expanded production of our At Ease line of curated, economy-priced flower and our Patton Reserve line of CBD-only tincture and lotion. 
  • We established production partnerships with Gentlemen Smugglers, one of the industry’s most storied brands, and recently became the exclusive producer in MA of the nationally acclaimed JuanaDips THC dip pouches. 
  • We began building a new Green Meadows dispensary in Marlborough that’s set to open this summer for medical and recreational patrons. 
  • Finally, we continue to honor our founding commitment to serve the community and veterans especially. Our affiliated organization, Green Meadows-Patton Alliance for Veterans, supports veteran initiatives both national and local, and has helped us connect with other cannabis companies that share our wish to make a positive impact through engagement and charity.
